Historic High Country

A small resort town located in Georgia's "Historic High Country," Blue Ridge sits right on the national scenic trail that follows the Appalachian mountain range for over 3,300 km (2,100 mi).
Bring the kids along to Zipline and Mercier Orchards. Change things up with these side-trips from Blue Ridge: Brasstown Bald (in Blairsville), Hemlock Falls Trail (in Clarkesville) and Anna Ruby Falls (in Helen). On the 21st (Wed), relax and float downstream with a rafting and tubing tour, then take in the dramatic scenery at Pearson's Falls and Glen, and then hike along Chimney Rock at Chimney Rock State Park. On the next day, take in the views from Lake Lure Flowering Bridge, try out the rides at Lake Lure Beach and Water Park, then examine the collection at The Right Track Toy Train Museum, and finally head outdoors with Outdoor Activities.
