Cody

— 9 nights

Preferred Gateway to Yellowstone

A genuine cowboy city, Cody is famous for its nightly rodeos and its proximity to the protected wilderness areas of the world's first national park, now designated as one of the country's World Heritage Sites.
Visiting Chief Joseph Hwy and The Buffalo Bill Reservoir will get you outdoors. Step off the beaten path and head to Draper Natural History Museum and Bear Tooth Pass Hwy. Venture out of the city with trips to Lake Fork Trail (in Red Lodge), Yellowstone National Park (Lake Butte Overlook, Storm Point Trail, &more) and Pryor Mountain Wild Mustang Center (in Lovell). There's still lots to do: explore the world behind art at Whitney Western Art Museum, stop by Cowtown Candy Company, get engrossed in the history at Historic Cody Mural and Museum, and immerse yourself in nature at Buffalo Bill State Park.

To see ratings, where to stay, traveler tips, and more tourist information, refer to the Cody tour planning site.

In June, plan for daily highs up to 75°F, and evening lows to 51°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 27th (Sat) to allow time to travel back home.
