Stunning Garden of the Gods Park scenery, blue skies and the glory of Pikes Peak-America’s Mountain have attracted visitors to Colorado Springs for more than a century.
On the 18th (Fri), identify plant and animal life at Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center and then examine the collection at Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center. On the 19th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: get engrossed in the history at Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum, stroll around North Cheyenne Canon Park, and then view the masterpieces at Commonwheel Artists Co-op.

Atlanta to Colorado Springs is an approximately 5.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. Aptly nicknamed the "Mile-High City," Denver sits at an altitude of 1,600 m (5,280 ft) above sea level, located right where the Great Plains give way to the Rocky Mountains.
Start off your visit on the 20th (Sun): get curious at Butterfly Pavilion and Insect Center, steep yourself in history at Molly Brown House Museum, and then stroll the grounds of Buffalo Bill Grave and Museum.

Drive from Colorado Springs to Denver in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of flight and train. In January, plan for daily highs up to 44°F, and evening lows to 21°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 20th (Sun) so you can go by car to Breckenridge.

Founded in 1859 as part of the Gold Rush in the Rockies, Breckenridge boasts a main street lined with colorful wooden storefronts housing cafes and shops, giving the effect of a thriving western town from the 19th century.
On the 21st (Mon), tour the pleasant surroundings at Copper Mountain and then stroll through Frisco Adventure Park. On the 22nd (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: hit the slopes at Arapahoe Basin.

Traveling from Breckenridge in January, expect nights in Estes Park to be about the same, around 19°F, while days are much hotter, around 48°F.
