Originally a frontier mining town, Durango is known today for its scenic setting, outdoor activities, and the 1880s steam-powered railway that takes visitors through sections of the mountains where roads don't reach.
Kick off your visit on the 23rd (Sat): explore the landscape on two wheels at The Colorado Trail, then enjoy some diversion at Durango Community Recreation Center, and then stroll through Animas Mountain Trail.

Minneapolis to Durango is an approximately 6.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and shuttle; or drive. Located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Boulder is a busy college town known for its progressive values and natural resource conservation.
On the 24th (Sun), examine the collection at Cozens Ranch House Museum and then glide through natural beauty at Devil's Thumb Ranch Cross Country Skiing. On your second day here, head outdoors with Brainard Lake Recreation Area and then take in the awesome beauty at Rabbit Mountain.

You can do a combination of flight and bus from Durango to Boulder in 4.5 hours. Other options are to do a combination of shuttle, flight, and bus; or drive. Traveling from Durango in March, you can expect nighttime temperatures to be somewhat warmer in Boulder, with lows of 33°F. On the 26th (Tue), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can drive to Estes Park.

Aptly nicknamed the "Mile-High City," Denver sits at an altitude of 1,600 m (5,280 ft) above sea level, located right where the Great Plains give way to the Rocky Mountains.
On the 29th (Fri), take in the dramatic natural features at Roxborough State Park, explore and take pictures at Dinosaur Ridge, and then contemplate the long history of Union Station. Keep things going the next day: identify plant and animal life at Butterfly Pavilion and Insect Center, then get to know the fascinating history of 16th Street Mall, and then ski along the peaceful trails at Cherry Creek State Park.

Traveling by car from Estes Park to Denver takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of taxi and bus.
