Heart of the Florida Keys

A tiny city just 16 km (10 mi) long, Marathon is spread across several islands in the middle of the Florida Keys.
On the 14th (Fri), stroll through Sombrero Beach, then look for all kinds of wild species at The Turtle Hospital, and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Bahia Honda State Park. On your second day here, indulge in some personalized pampering at SpaTerre at Little Palm Island Resort and then take a memorable tour with Tours.

Washington to Marathon is an approximately 10-hour combination of flight and car. You can also do a combination of flight and car; or drive. Expect a bit warmer weather when traveling from Washington in May: highs in Marathon hover around 88°F, while lows dip to 77°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 15th (Sat) early enough to drive to Islamorada.

The Village of Islands

Islamorada, long recognized as one of the world's top spots for sport fishing, encompasses six islands in the Florida Keys.
Start off your visit on the 16th (Sun): get engrossed in the history at History of Diving Museum, then cast your line with a fishing tour, then look for gifts at Bass Pro Shops, and finally indulge your thirst for a good beer at Florida Keys Brewing Company. The northernmost island of the Florida Keys, Key Largo provides stunning scenery, a number of watersports opportunities, and plenty of areas to relax on vacation.
On the 18th (Tue), get up close and personal with brilliant marine life at Island Dolphin Care, then see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour, then stop by Sandal Kingdom, and finally look for all kinds of wild species at Florida Keys Wild Bird Rehabilitation Center. Key Largo is very close to Islamorada. Traveling from Islamorada in May, expect little chillier with lows of 72°F in Key Largo. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 19th (Wed) so you can go by car to Key West.

Key West

Located just 140 km (90 mi) from Cuba, Key West is an island only about 6.4 km (4 mi) long and 1.6 km (1 mi) wide.
Key West is known for wildlife, adventure, and museums. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: see the interesting displays at The Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum, take a leisurely stroll along Mallory Square, explore the different monuments and memorials at Key West Cemetery, and make a trip to Duval Street.
