Glacier National Park — 8 nights

Crown of the Continent

The glaciers from which Glacier National Park takes its name mostly dissipated eons ago, but they left behind a scoured landscape of high and steep mountain peaks, sparkling lakes, lush alpine meadows, and thick forests.
Change things up with a short trip to Dawson Pass and Pitamakan Pass Loop in East Glacier Park (about 50 minutes away). On the 11th (Thu), hike the day away at Highline Trail. There's still lots to do: explore the striking landscape at Grinnell Glacier, admire all the interesting features of Going-to-the-Sun Road, trek along Avalanche Lake, and admire the verdant scenery at Logan Pass.
