Wailuku is a census-designated place (CDP) in Maui County, Hawaii, United States. Kids will appreciate attractions like Scuba & Snorkeling and Maui Ocean Center. Venture out of the city with trips to Kamaole Beach Park III (in Kihei), Lahaina Banyan Court (in Lahaina) and Haleakala Crater (in Haleakala National Park). There's much more to do: admire all the interesting features of Hana Highway - Road to Hana, kick back and relax at Ho'okipa Beach Park, and stroll through Kalepolepo Beach Park.

Big Pineapple

In many ways much more Asian than American, Honolulu is Hawaii's largest city and its center of government, transportation, commerce, and tourism.
Kids will enjoy Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head State Monument. Venture out of the city with trips to Kailua Beach Park (in Kailua), Haleiwa (Sunset Beach Park & Waimea Bay) and Pu’u O Mahuka Heiau State Monument (in Pupukea). There's still lots to do: explore the different monuments and memorials at USS Arizona Memorial, examine the collection at USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park, pause for some photo ops at King Kamehameha Statue, and don't miss a visit to Battleship Missouri Memorial.

You can fly from Wailuku to Honolulu in 3.5 hours. In February, plan for daily highs up to 81°F, and evening lows to 69°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 22nd (Sat) to allow time to travel back home.
