Houston

— 2 nights

Bayou City

Although urban sprawl remains synonymous with Houston, most of the city's tourist attractions lie within the relatively small downtown area, surrounded by diverse neighborhoods housing the nation's biggest African-American, Asian-American, and Latino communities.
Children's Museum of Houston and Battleship Texas State Historic Site will appeal to museum buffs. Kids will enjoy Cockrell Butterfly Center and Holocaust Museum Houston. When in Houston, make a side trip to see San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site in La Porte, approximately La Porte away. And it doesn't end there: examine the collection at Houston Museum District, explore the world behind art at The Menil Collection, tour the pleasant surroundings at Water Wall, and trek along Houston Arboretum & Nature Center.
