Nicknamed the "Entertainment Capital of the World," Las Vegas sits in the middle of a desert in the southern section of Nevada.

Change things up with a short trip to Hoover Dam in Boulder City (about 50 minutes away). On the 5th (Wed), examine the collection at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, take a stroll through Lincoln Road, then snap pictures at Venetian Causeway, and finally enjoy some diversion at Lock & Load Miami. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: get to know the fascinating history of Art Deco Tours, then kick back and relax at South Beach, then take a stroll through Art Deco Historic District, and finally steep yourself in history at Barnacle State Historic Site.

Getting from Las Vegas to Miami by combination of flight and bus takes about 8 hours. Other options: drive; or take a train. You'll lose 3 hours traveling from Las Vegas to Miami due to the time zone difference. When traveling from Las Vegas in August, plan for little chillier days in Miami, with highs around 38°C, while nights are about the same with lows around 30°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 6th (Thu) early enough to go by car to Marathon.

Traveling by car from Miami to Marathon takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of tram, flight, and bus. In August, plan for daily highs up to 39°C, and evening lows to 31°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 7th (Fri) early enough to take a bus to Key West.

Located just 140 km (90 mi) from Cuba, Key West is an island only about 6.4 km (4 mi) long and 1.6 km (1 mi) wide.
