First Eastern National Park

The first national park east of the Mississippi River, Acadia National Park draws visitors with its rugged landscape of ocean shoreline, low-slung granite mountains, dense woodlands, and pristine lakes.
Get in touch with nature at Echo Lake Beach and Dorr Mountain. Discover out-of-the-way places like Beech Mountain Trail and Pemetic Mountain. There's lots more to do: take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Cadillac Mountain, trek along The Bowl Trail, take an in-depth tour of Somesville Historical Museum and Gardens, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Heart of Acadia Loop.

Newark to Acadia National Park is an approximately 6.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train, bus, and car. In September, Acadia National Park is little chillier than Newark - with highs of 70°F and lows of 52°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 15th (Tue) so you can drive to Camden.

Wells is a town in York County, Maine, United States. You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Wells Beach and North Beach. Step out of the city life by going to Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge and Odiorne Point State Park. Venture out of the city with trips to Wallis Sands State Beach (in Rye), Salisbury Rail Trail (in Salisbury) and Jenness State Beach (in Rye Beach).
