Lahaina — 7 nights

Once the booming capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom, the tropical paradise of Lahaina still remains one of Maui's top vacation attractions, providing both culture and recreation.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Lahaina: HA Baldwin Beach Park (in Paia), Waihee Ridge Trail (in Waihee) and Wailuku (Waiehu Beach Park & Iao Valley). There's much more to do: celebrate the Hawaiian way at Old Lahaina Luau, enjoy the sand and surf at Ulua Beach, walk around Lahaina Banyan Court, and visit Lahaina Front Street.

Los Angeles to Lahaina is an approximately 7.5-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 2 hours traveling from Los Angeles to Lahaina. Plan for somewhat warmer temperatures traveling from Los Angeles in January, with highs in Lahaina at 78°F and lows at 67°F. You will have some time to spend on the 23rd (Sun) before leaving for Hana.

Hana — 2 nights

Hana is one of the most isolated communities in Hawaii, with a permanent population of just over 1,000 people.
Kick off your visit on the 23rd (Sun): appreciate the history behind Fagan's Cross, explore the activities along Venus Pool (Waioka Pond), Head underground at Hana Lava Tubes, admire the sheer force of Waimoku Falls, then admire the sheer force of Waikani Falls, and finally tour the pleasant surroundings at Keā€˜anae Point. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: stroll through Red Sand Beach - Kaihalulu Beach, enjoy the sand and surf at Hana Bay Beach Park, then kick back and relax at Wai'anapanapa State Park, and finally get engrossed in the history at Hana Cultural Center.

You can fly from Lahaina to Hana in 2 hours. Other options are to drive; or do a combination of bus and taxi. In January, plan for daily highs up to 81°F, and evening lows to 63°F. On the 25th (Tue), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can fly back home.
