Jackson, officially the City of Jackson, is the capital city and largest urban center of the U.S. Museum-lovers will appreciate Jesse Brent Lower Mississippi River Museum and Interpretive Center and Mississippi Museum of Natural Science. Visit Old Capitol Museum and Mississippi State Capitol for their historical value. Step out of Jackson with an excursion to The Old Depot Museum in Vicksburg--about 58 minutes away. Natchez is the county seat and only city of Adams County, Mississippi, United States. You'll discover tucked-away gems like St. Mary Basilica and First Presbyterian Church. Your inner history buff will appreciate Windsor Ruins and Dunleith Historic Inn. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Natchez: Port Gibson (First Presbyterian Church of Port Gibson & Grand Gulf Military Park).
