The glaciers from which Glacier National Park takes its name mostly dissipated eons ago, but they left behind a scoured landscape of high and steep mountain peaks, sparkling lakes, lush alpine meadows, and thick forests.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Bowman Lake and Two Medicine Lake. Take a break from the city and head to Running Eagle Falls and St.Mary Falls. There's still lots to do: stroll through Trail of the Cedars, look for all kinds of wild species at Goat Lick Overlook, cruise along Going-to-the-Sun Road, and explore the striking landscape at Jackson Glacier Overlook.
