The glaciers from which Glacier National Park takes its name mostly dissipated eons ago, but they left behind a scoured landscape of high and steep mountain peaks, sparkling lakes, lush alpine meadows, and thick forests.
Visiting Going-to-the-Sun Road and Virginia Falls will get you outdoors. There's still lots to do: appreciate the views at Logan Pass, explore the striking landscape at Grinnell Glacier, explore the activities along Avalanche Lake, and trek along Iceberg Lake Trail.
