Best known for its 1692 witch trials, Salem has a number of significant historical sites, a bustling downtown, and many witch-themed attractions.
Start off your visit on the 9th (Wed): contemplate the long history of The House of the Seven Gables, then see the interesting displays at Salem Witch Museum, and then see majestic marine mammals with a dolphin and whale watching tour. On the next day, take in the exciting artwork at Fished Impressions and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Hampton Beach State Park.
