Albuquerque remains one of the state's secret jewels, as its tourist attractions are often overshadowed by the more popular holiday destination of Santa Fe.
On the 1st (Tue), indulge your thirst for a good beer at Bombs Away Beer Co.. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: examine the collection at New Mexico Steam Locomotive and Railroad Historical Society, engage your brain at Explora Science Center and Children's Museum of Albuquerque, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at San Felipe de Neri Church, and finally grab your bike and head to Corrales Bosque.

Getting from Albuquerque to Santa Fe by bus takes about an hour. Other options: drive; or take a train. Plan for slightly colder nights when traveling from Albuquerque in October since evenings lows in Santa Fe dip to 41°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 4th (Fri) so you can drive to Taos.
