Known for its Creole cuisine, rich musical tradition, and nearby swamps and plantations, New Orleans is one of the nation's oldest cities.
Head to Jamie Hayes Gallery and Frenchmen Streetfor some retail therapy. Visit Evergreen Plantation and Lake Lawn Metairie for their historical value. Go for a jaunt from New Orleans to Wallace to see Whitney Plantation about 52 minutes away. And it doesn't end there: appreciate the extensive heritage of Garden District, admire the landmark architecture of St. Louis Cathedral, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at St. Augustine Church, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Immaculate Conception Church.
