Known for its Creole cuisine, rich musical tradition, and nearby swamps and plantations, New Orleans is one of the nation's oldest cities.
The National WWII Museum and Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium will appeal to museum buffs. Family-friendly places like Nature & Wildlife Tours and Jackson Square will thrill your kids. When in New Orleans, make a side trip to see Laura Plantation: Louisiana's Creole Heritage Site in Vacherie, approximately 58 minutes away. Oklahoma City to New Orleans is an approximately 6.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and bus; or drive. While traveling from Oklahoma City, expect a bit cooler days and a bit warmer nights in New Orleans, ranging from highs of 80°F to lows of 80°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 13th (Fri) so you can go by car to Biloxi.

A busy city on the Gulf Coast, Biloxi is one of the nation's oldest communities, first settled by Europeans in 1699.
On the 13th (Fri), stop by Shearwater Pottery, see the interesting displays at Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum, and then stroll through Biloxi Beach. On your second day here, look for all kinds of wild species at Mississippi Sandhill Crane National Wildlife Refuge, tee off at The Preserve Golf Club, and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at St. Michael's Catholic Church.
