New Orleans

— 9 nights

The Big Easy

Known for its Creole cuisine, rich musical tradition, and nearby swamps and plantations, New Orleans is one of the nation's oldest cities.
The National WWII Museum and Jamie Hayes Gallery will appeal to museum buffs. Laura: Louisiana's Creole Heritage Site and The Myrtles Plantation are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Venture out of the city with trips to Evergreen Plantation (in Edgard), Oak Alley Plantation (in Vacherie) and Baton Rouge (Louisiana Art & Science Museum, Louisiana's Old State Capitol, &more). There's still lots to do: examine the collection at Whitney Plantation, take an in-depth tour of The Presbytere, admire the masterpieces at Ogden Museum of Southern Art, and pause for some serene contemplation at Immaculate Conception Church.

Expect a daytime high around 62°F in November, and nighttime lows around 61°F.
