Ludington

Ludington is a city in the state of Michigan. Family-friendly places like Ludington State Park and Ludington Waterfront Park will thrill your kids. Get out of town with these interesting Ludington side-trips: Manistee (Lake Bluff Bird Sanctuary, First Street Beach, &more). Charlevoix is a city in the U.S. Start off your visit on the 28th (Tue): stroll through Depot Beach, then kick back and relax at Michigan Beach Park, then explore the historical opulence of Castle Farms, and finally hunt for treasures at Boyne City Farmer's Market. Here are some ideas for day two: immerse yourself in nature at Young State Park, then identify plant and animal life at Avalanche Preserve Recreation Area, and then identify plant and animal life at The Oden State Fish Hatchery.

Traverse City might be well known for its huge cherry industry, but its position along Grand Traverse Bay in Lake Michigan endows it with fine scenery and a wealth of outdoor attractions.
Kids will enjoy Boat Tours & Water Sports and Mission Point Lighthouse. Venture out of the city with trips to Empire (Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive, &more) and Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail (in Glen Arbor). There's still lots to do: grab your bike and head to Traverse Area Recreation and Transportation Trails, play a few rounds at Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf, kick back and relax at Clinch Park, and wander the streets of Front Street.

Getting from Charlevoix to Traverse City by car takes about 1.5 hours. In July in Traverse City, expect temperatures between 80°F during the day and 59°F at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 2nd (Sun) early enough to travel back home.
