A big city with a small-town feel, Portland is home to the country's biggest rose test garden, perched on a hill overlooking downtown.
When in Portland, make a side trip to see Multnomah Falls in Bridal Veil, approximately 46 minutes away. Dedicate the 17th (Sat) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. There's still lots to do: admire the natural beauty at Portland Japanese Garden, stop by Powell's City of Books, meet the residents at Oregon Zoo, and steep yourself in history at Pittock Mansion.

Denver to Portland is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus.
