Nicknamed the "Emerald City" because of its abundant evergreen trees, Seattle is the cultural and business center of the Pacific Northwest, as well as a popular holiday destination.
Seattle is known for museums, sightseeing, and parks. Your trip includes some of its best attractions: enjoy breathtaking views from Space Needle, examine the collection at The Museum of Flight, meet the residents at Woodland Park Zoo, and work some fitness into your day at Discovery Park.

Cannon Beach is a city in Clatsop County, Oregon, United States. Kick off your visit on the 23rd (Mon): enjoy the sand and surf at Cannon Beach and then admire the majestic nature at Oswald West State Park. On the next day, kick back and relax at Haystack Rock, then admire the majestic nature at Ecola State Park, and then take in the exciting artwork at Icefire Glassworks.

Traveling by flight from Seattle to Cannon Beach takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Seattle in May, you will find days in Cannon Beach are a bit cooler (62°F), and nights are about the same (48°F). Finish your sightseeing early on the 24th (Tue) so you can drive to Portland.

Portland — 4 nights

A big city with a small-town feel, Portland is home to the country's biggest rose test garden, perched on a hill overlooking downtown.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Portland: Schreiner's Iris Gardens (in Salem) and St. Mary's Catholic Church (in Mount Angel). There's still lots to do: admire the natural beauty at Portland Japanese Garden, stroll around Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge, look for gifts at Powell's City of Books, and get outside with Portland Timbers.

When traveling from Cannon Beach in May, plan for a bit warmer days and about the same nights in Portland: temperatures range from 70°F by day to 51°F at night. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 28th (Sat) to allow time for the flight back home.
