For sixty years until 2003, most of the Isla de Vieques was closed off to the public, with the US Navy using the island's beaches and surrounding waters for drills and testing of new military machinery, such as bombs.
On the 18th (Thu), view the masterpieces at Siddhia Hutchinson Fine Art Gallery, look for gifts at Isla Vida, then look for all kinds of wild species at Vieques National Wildlife Refuge, and finally kick back and relax at La Chiva. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: take an in-depth tour of Fortin Conde de Mirasol Museum and then stroll through Sun Bay.

You can fly from San Juan to Isla de Vieques in 2 hours. Other options are to do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of shuttle and ferry. In April, daily temperatures in Isla de Vieques can reach 85°F, while at night they dip to 75°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 19th (Fri) early enough to travel to Ponce.

Ponce is both a city and a municipality in the southern part of Puerto Rico. On the 21st (Sun), get to know the fascinating history of La Guancha, examine the collection at El Museo Castillo Serralles, then get engrossed in the history at Ponce History Museum, and finally take in the exciting artwork at Centro Cultural Carmen Sola de Pereira de Ponce. On the next day, see the interesting displays at Parque de Bombas, steep yourself in history at Casa Wiechers-Villaronga, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Cathedral of our Lady of Guadaloupe, then admire the masterpieces at Museo de Arte de Ponce, and finally stop by Plaza del Caribe.

Getting from Isla de Vieques to Ponce by combination of ferry and car takes about 3.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of flight and shuttle; or do a combination of flight and car. In April, daily temperatures in Ponce can reach 82°F, while at night they dip to 71°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 22nd (Mon) so you can drive to Rincon.

A seaside playground in the Caribbean, Rincon was a small agricultural and fishing town until it hosted the 1968 World Surfing Championship.
On the 23rd (Tue), kick back and relax at Playa Rompe Olas, kick back and relax at Crashboat Beach, then see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour, and finally stop by Tres Puertas Art Gallery & Blue Mermaid Gift Shop.

Drive from Ponce to Rincon in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of shuttle and flight. Traveling from Ponce in April, Rincon is a bit warmer at night with lows of 78°F. On the 24th (Wed), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel back home.
