Step out of Big Sur with an excursion to Pinnacles National Park in Paicines--about 1h 5 min away. The adventure continues: get great views at Rocky Creek Bridge, immerse yourself in nature at Andrew Molera State Park, take in the dramatic scenery at McWay Falls, and hike along Partington Cove.

You can drive from San Francisco to Big Sur in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and taxi; or take a bus. Expect a daytime high around 70°F in October, and nighttime lows around 52°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 7th (Thu) so you can travel to Yosemite National Park.
