Venture out of the city with trips to Mill Valley (Muir Woods National Monument & Dipsea Trail), Rutherford (Round Pond Estate & Inglenook) and St. Helena (VGS Chateau Potelle & V. Sattui Winery). Dedicate the 3rd (Sat) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. There's still lots to do: stroll around Sonoma Plaza, do a tasting at Robert Biale Vineyards, soar above the sights with a balloon tour, and make a trip to Sonoma Barracks.

Explore Los Angeles' surroundings by going to San Diego (San Diego Museum of Art & USS Midway Museum). Pack the 8th (Thu) with family-friendly diversions at Universal Studios Hollywood. Pack the 10th (Sat) with family-friendly diversions at Disneyland Park. The adventure continues: look and learn at Griffith Observatory, cruise along Mulholland Drive, Head underground at Bronson Caves, and enjoy the sand and surf at Venice Beach and Boardwalk.
