Rochester to St. Pete Beach is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train, bus, and taxi. Traveling from Rochester in October, things will get much warmer in St. Pete Beach: highs are around 84°F and lows about 73°F. On the 14th (Fri), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can drive to Hiddenite.

Hiddenite is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in east-central Alexander County, North Carolina. Kids will enjoy Rocky Face Mountain Recreational Area and Emerald Hollow Mine. Venture out of the city with trips to Bunker Hill Covered Bridge (in Claremont) and Historic Murray's Mill (in Catawba). Next up on the itinerary: get engrossed in the history at Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center's Lucas Mansion Museum, stop by Deal Orchards, and take in the pleasant sights at Love Valley Wild West Town.
