A tiny town with big tourist appeal, Pigeon Forge bills itself as the "Center of Fun in the Smokies." Just a short drive from the national park protecting the diverse plant and animal life of the Great Smoky Mountains, the town features numerous places to visit, such as bars, restaurants, cafes, theaters, and shops.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Roaring Fork and Tennessee Homemade Wines. Escape the urban bustle at Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail and Laurel Falls. Change things up with these side-trips from Pigeon Forge: Great Smoky Mountains National Park (Clingmans Dome & Grotto Falls Trail) and Tuckaleechee Caverns (in Townsend). There's lots more to do: examine the collection at Smoky Mountain Knife Works, have some family-friendly fun at The Escape Game Pigeon Forge, sample the tasty concoctions at Yee-Haw Brewing Co., and learn about winemaking at Mill Bridge Winery.
