One of the country's most popular shopping destinations, Dallas and its sprawling suburbs include more shopping centers per capita than any other urban center in America.
Kick off your visit on the 12th (Fri): get up close and personal with brilliant marine life at Dallas World Aquarium and then examine the collection at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza.

The city of Fredericksburg was settled by German immigrants in the mid-19th century, and has managed to retain its distinctly German charm.
On the 16th (Tue), learn about all things military at National Museum of the Pacific War, then look for gifts at Fischer & Wieser's Das Peach Haus, and then awaken your taste buds at some of the top wineries in the area.

Getting from Austin to Fredericksburg by car takes about 2 hours. Other options: take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. As the state’s second largest city, San Antonio embodies Texas’ rich cultural heritage while maintaining the Old West charm of an oil town.
Attractions like SeaWorld San Antonio and Six Flags Fiesta Texas make great kid-friendly stops. There's lots more to do: Head underground at Natural Bridge Caverns, pause for some serene contemplation at San Fernando De Bexar Cathedral, get a taste of the local shopping with Blue Star Contemporary, and hike along The San Antonio River Walk.

Drive from Fredericksburg to San Antonio in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In July, plan for daily highs up to 98°F, and evening lows to 75°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 19th (Fri) so you can catcht the bus to Houston.

Although urban sprawl remains synonymous with Houston, most of the city's tourist attractions lie within the relatively small downtown area, surrounded by diverse neighborhoods housing the nation's biggest African-American, Asian-American, and Latino communities.
On the 20th (Sat), have some family-friendly fun at Escape Hunt, then see the interesting displays at Space Center Houston, and then get in on the family fun at Kemah Boardwalk. On your second day here, admire all the interesting features of Minute Maid Park, then get curious at The Houston Museum of Natural Science, and then take in the dramatic scenery at Water Wall.
