Tucson

— 9 nights

Old Pueblo

One of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the country, Tucson is a city on a cultural crossroads, with European, Native American, Mexican, and Asian residents blending and sometimes conflicting with one another.
Kids will enjoy Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum and Mt. Lemmon Scenic Byway. Get out of town with these interesting Tucson side-trips: Mt. Lemmon SkyCenter Observatory (in Mount Lemmon), Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch (in Picacho) and Shamrock Farms (in Stanfield). There's still lots to do: examine the collection at Pima Air and Space Museum, learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at Reid Park Zoo, admire the majestic nature at Kartchner Caverns State Park, and get curious at Biosphere 2.

For photos, ratings, and tourist information, you can read our Tucson trip planner.

Expect a daytime high around 82°F in April, and nighttime lows around 53°F.
