Estes Park to Rocky Mountain National Park is an approximately half hour car ride. You can also take a bus. Expect a daytime high around 89°F in August, and nighttime lows around 56°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 16th (Fri) so you can go by car to Estes Park.
