Nicknamed the "Entertainment Capital of the World," Las Vegas sits in the middle of a desert in the southern section of Nevada.
Step out of Las Vegas to go to Boulder City and see Hoover Dam, which is approximately 50 minutes away. There's lots more to do: take in breathtaking views at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, shop like a local with The Strip, try your luck at New York New York Casino, and observe the fascinating underwater world at Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay.

Portland to Las Vegas is an approximately 4-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus.
