Great Smoky Mountains National Park contains some of the highest mountains east of the Mississippi River, but it's the ease of access that makes this national park the United States' most visited.
Start off your visit on the 25th (Thu): identify plant and animal life at Roaring Fork, then appreciate the extensive heritage of Noah Bud Ogle Cabin, and then take in the awesome beauty at Clingmans Dome. On the 26th (Fri), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: trek along Grotto Falls Trail, then take in the dramatic scenery at Baskins Creek Falls, and then trek along Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail.
