Known for its Creole cuisine, rich musical tradition, and nearby swamps and plantations, New Orleans is one of the nation's oldest cities.
On the 9th (Sat), examine the collection at The National WWII Museum, then examine the collection at Cabildo, and then appreciate the extensive heritage of French Quarter. Here are some ideas for day two: examine the collection at Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium, get to know the fascinating history of Jackson Square, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at St. Louis Cathedral, then stop by Faulkner House Books, and finally wander the streets of Garden District.
