The town of Silverton is a Statutory Town that is the county seat of, and the only incorporated municipality in San Juan County, Colorado, United States. Kick off your visit on the 11th (Wed): take in the dramatic scenery at Bear Creek Falls and then get engrossed in the history at San Juan County Historical Society. On the next day, see the interesting displays at Ouray Alchemist Museum and then trek along Perimeter Trail.

Durango

Originally a frontier mining town, Durango is known today for its scenic setting, outdoor activities, and the 1880s steam-powered railway that takes visitors through sections of the mountains where roads don't reach.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Wines of the San Juan and Toh-Atin Gallery. Get outdoors at Durango Fish Hatchery and Wildlife Museum and Animas River. It doesn't end there: relax and float downstream with a rafting and tubing tour.
