Despite its laid-back college vibe, Austin is an influential center for politics, technology, film, and music.
Bring the kids along to Santa's Wonderland and Thinkery. Explore hidden gems such as Lake Marble Falls and Room Escape Games. Step out of Austin with an excursion to On the Square in Georgetown--about 34 minutes away. There's still lots to do: Head underground at Inner Space Cavern, ponder the world of politics at Texas State Capitol, let your taste buds guide you at a local gastronomic tour, and admire the masterpieces at Mexic-Arte Museum.
