Sightseeing in Waco offers many possibilities in a medium-sized town on the Brazos River in central Texas.
On the 1st (Sat), see the interesting displays at Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum, then examine the collection at Dr Pepper Museum, and then brush up on your knowledge of spirits at Balcones Distilling.

Kansas City to Waco is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. In October, plan for daily highs up to 84°F, and evening lows to 58°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 2nd (Sun) early enough to drive to San Antonio.

As the state’s second largest city, San Antonio embodies Texas’ rich cultural heritage while maintaining the Old West charm of an oil town.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near San Antonio: Austin (St. Mary's Cathedral, LBJ Presidential Library, &more). There's much more to do: explore the fascinating underground world of Natural Bridge Caverns, pause for some serene contemplation at San Fernando De Bexar Cathedral, take in the history at Mission San Jose, and steep yourself in history at The Alamo.

Traveling by car from Waco to San Antonio takes 3 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or fly. Expect somewhat warmer evenings in San Antonio when traveling from Waco in October, with lows around 64°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 5th (Wed) to allow time to fly to Galveston.

Galveston — 3 nights

An old colonial city and a busy cruise ship port less than an hour's drive from Houston, Galveston sits on Galveston Island and serves as a popular vacation destination for both domestic and international travelers.
Take a break from Galveston with a short trip to Kemah Boardwalk in Kemah, about 38 minutes away. And it doesn't end there: take a stroll through The Strand, browse the exhibits of Moody Mansion, get to know the fascinating history of The Seawall, and engage your brain at Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig & Museum.

Getting from San Antonio to Galveston by flight takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: drive; or do a combination of bus and car. When traveling from San Antonio in October, plan for a bit cooler days in Galveston, with highs around 82°F, while nights are a bit warmer with lows around 71°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 8th (Sat) early enough to fly back home.
