The capital of the United States, the District of Columbia contains the lion's share of the country's most treasured monuments, memorials, and public museums.
You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like National Air and Space Museum and Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Old Town and Tomb of the Unknowns. The adventure continues: take a stroll through Capitol Hill, ponder the world of politics at White House, admire nature's wide array of creatures at National Zoological Park, and pause for some photo ops at Lincoln Memorial.

Milwaukee to Washington DC is an approximately 4-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or drive. You'll lose 1 hour traveling from Milwaukee to Washington DC due to the time zone difference. Plan for somewhat warmer temperatures traveling from Milwaukee in July, with highs in Washington DC at 37°C and lows at 26°C. The capital city of Virginia, Richmond has diverse architecture, a large collection of monuments, and world-class museums that reveal the city's important role in American history.
You'll discover tucked-away gems like Pamplin Historical Park and Virginia Capitol Building. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Shirley Plantation and St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Venture out of the city with trips to Williamsburg (Jamestown Settlement & Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf) and Pocahontas State Park (in Chesterfield). There's more to do: stroll the grounds of Blandford Church and Cemetery and steep yourself in history at St. John's Episcopal Church.
