The glaciers from which Glacier National Park takes its name mostly dissipated eons ago, but they left behind a scoured landscape of high and steep mountain peaks, sparkling lakes, lush alpine meadows, and thick forests.
Start off your visit on the 19th (Tue): take in the dramatic scenery at Virginia Falls, cruise along Going-to-the-Sun Road, and then admire the verdant scenery at Logan Pass. On the next day, stroll through Avalanche Lake and then hike along Iceberg Lake Trail.

In July, Yellowstone National Park is little chillier than Glacier National Park - with highs of 73°F and lows of 39°F.
