Medellin, Colombia to Fairbanks is an approximately 22-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 4 hours traveling from Medellin to Fairbanks. In February, Fairbanks is much colder than Medellin - with highs of -13°C and lows of -26°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 13th (Tue) early enough to travel to Homer.

You can do a combination of flight and car from Fairbanks to Homer in 7 hours. Alternatively, you can drive. Plan for much hotter temperatures traveling from Fairbanks in February, with highs in Homer at 2°C and lows at -4°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 15th (Thu) early enough to drive to Anchorage.

Your inner history buff will appreciate Tony Knowles Coastal Trail and Alaska Native Heritage Center. Visiting Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center and Helicopter Tours will get you outdoors. There's lots more to do: hike along Friends of Eagle River Nature, sample the tasty concoctions at Girdwood Brewing Company, take in the awesome beauty at Alyeska Ski Area, and examine the collection at Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center.

Getting from Homer to Anchorage by car takes about 4.5 hours. Traveling from Homer in February, things will get slightly colder in Anchorage: highs are around -2°C and lows about -11°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 18th (Sun) early enough to fly to Sitka.

On the 19th (Mon), get up close to creatures of the deep with a dolphin and whale watching tour, get to know the fascinating history of Sitka National Historic Park/Totem Park, and then indulge your thirst for a good beer at Baranof Island Brewing Company.
