If you are flying in from Mexico, the closest major airports are General Edward Lawrence Logan International Airport, Manchester-Boston Regional Airport, Theodore Francis Green State Airport and Portsmouth International at Pease Airport. In September, plan for daily highs up to 28°C, and evening lows to 17°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 15th (Sun) early enough to catch the train to Salem.

Best known for its 1692 witch trials, Salem has a number of significant historical sites, a bustling downtown, and many witch-themed attractions.

Start off your visit on the 16th (Mon): steep yourself in history at The House of the Seven Gables, see the interesting displays at Salem Witch Museum, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Salisbury Rail Trail, and finally get to know the fascinating history of Marginal Way Walkway. Take a train from Boston to Salem in an hour. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Boston in September, expect slightly colder with lows of 14°C in Salem. On the 18th (Wed), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can take a train back home.
