Ouray is a Home Rule Municipality that is the county seat and the most populous city of Ouray County, Colorado, United States. Take a break from the city and head to Cascade Falls Park and Yankee Boy Basin. Step off the beaten path and head to Perimeter Trail and Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. Step out of Ouray to go to Montrose and see Museum of the Mountain West, which is approximately 1h 20 min away. And it doesn't end there: admire the sheer force of Ouray Box Canyon Waterfall, hike along Bear Creek Falls, soothe aching muscles at some of the top local wellness centers, and examine the collection at Ouray Alchemist Museum.

Known as a ski resort town, Aspen's history goes back to its roots as a silver-mining village tucked away in an isolated valley of the Rocky Mountains.
On the 8th (Mon), trek along Maroon Lake Scenic Trail, then pause for some photo ops at The John Denver Sanctuary, and then let the river carry you with a rafting and tubing tour. On the 9th (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: explore the activities along Crater Lake Trail, then trek along Rio Grande Trail, and then trek along Lost Man Trail.

Drive from Pagosa Springs to Aspen in 5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of shuttle and flight; or do a combination of shuttle and bus. In July, daytime highs in Aspen are 81°F, while nighttime lows are 49°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 9th (Tue) so you can go by car to Rocky Mountain National Park.
