The World's Most Famous Beach

The iconic seaside destination of Daytona Beach once supported sugar mill plantations, but now entertains up to 8 million visitors a year.
Attractions like Ormond Beach and Andy Romano Beachfront Park make great kid-friendly stops. Get outdoors at Dolphin & Whale Watching and Ormond Scenic Loop & Trail. Take a break from Daytona Beach with a short trip to New Smyrna Town Beach in New Smyrna Beach, about 32 minutes away. There's lots more to do: stop by Angell & Phelps Chocolate Factory, kick back and relax at Beach at Daytona Beach, immerse yourself in nature at Tomoka State Park, and trek along Lighthouse Point Park.

Albany to Daytona Beach is an approximately 19.5-hour car ride. You can also fly; or drive; or do a combination of train and bus. Expect somewhat warmer temperatures when traveling from Albany in July; daily highs in Daytona Beach reach 91°F and lows reach 74°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Thu) to allow time to drive to Miami.
