The Motor City

Get out of town with these interesting Detroit side-trips: The Town Peddler Craft and Antique Mall (in Livonia) and Ann Arbor (University of Michigan Museum of Art, University of Michigan, &more). There's much more to do: explore the world behind art at Detroit Institute of Arts, contemplate the long history of The Ford Piquette Avenue Plant, see the interesting displays at The Henry Ford, and browse the exhibits of Motown Museum.

Playa del Carmen, Mexico to Detroit is an approximately 7-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and train. In November, Detroit is colder than Playa del Carmen - with highs of 10°C and lows of 1°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 18th (Sat) to allow time to drive to Frankenmuth.
