The largest municipality in Missouri, Kansas City has an impressive array of world-class museums, shopping areas, and great places to eat, all of which attract tourism to the area.
Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Country Club Plaza and City Market. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Arabia Steamboat Museum and The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures. Get out of town with these interesting Kansas City side-trips: Saint Joseph (Glore Psychiatric Museum, Patee House Museum, &more). It doesn't end there: examine the collection at Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and sample the tasty concoctions at Cinder Block Brewery.
