The glaciers from which Glacier National Park takes its name mostly dissipated eons ago, but they left behind a scoured landscape of high and steep mountain peaks, sparkling lakes, lush alpine meadows, and thick forests.
On the 5th (Thu), hike the day away at Highline Trail. There's much more to do: cruise along Going-to-the-Sun Road, hike along Iceberg Lake Trail, take in the dramatic scenery at Virginia Falls, and stroll through Avalanche Lake.

Explore Gardiner's surroundings by going to West Yellowstone (Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center, Yellowstone Big Gun Fun, &more), Cooke City Montana Museum (in Cooke City) and Safari Yellowstone Day Trips (in Livingston). There's lots more to do: take a pleasant ride with a tour on horseback, contemplate the waterfront views at Yellowstone River, take a memorable drive along Beartooth Hwy, and relax and float downstream with a rafting and tubing tour.

You can drive from Glacier National Park to Gardiner in 7.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and car; or do a combination of car and bus. In August, Gardiner is little chillier than Glacier National Park - with highs of 75°F and lows of 37°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 8th (Sun) so you can go by car to Bozeman.

Bozeman is a city in and the county seat of Gallatin County, Montana, United States, in the southwestern part of the state. Start off your visit on the 9th (Mon): pause for some serene contemplation at The Soldiers Chapel, relax and float downstream with a rafting and tubing tour, and then hike along Ousel Falls Trail.
