Known as the capital of country music, the thriving city of Nashville combines old-world southern charm with a progressive urban flair.
On the 12th (Tue), view the masterpieces at David Arms Gallery, then learn about winemaking at Arrington Vineyards, and then contemplate the waterfront views at Radnor Lake State Park. Here are some ideas for day two: sample the fine beverages at Smith Creek Moonshine, see a show at Grand Ole Opry, and then wander the streets of The District.

You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Daingerfield State Park and Louisiana State Oil & Gas Museum. Get out of town with these interesting Atlanta side-trips: Monster Mart (in Fouke), Earl G. Williamson Park (in Oil City) and Historic Caddo Lake Drawbridge (in Mooringsport).
