Known as the capital of country music, the thriving city of Nashville combines old-world southern charm with a progressive urban flair.
Get outdoors at Centennial Park and Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. Downtown Franklin and Carnton are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Venture out of the city with trips to Arrington Vineyards (in Arrington) and Carter House (in Franklin). Get some cultural insight at Blue Bell Creameries and Brazosport Museum of Natural Science. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Surfside Beach and Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Step out of Houston to go to Washington and see Star of the Republic Museum, which is approximately 1h 20 min away.
