Albuquerque remains one of the state's secret jewels, as its tourist attractions are often overshadowed by the more popular holiday destination of Santa Fe.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Cibola National Forest and Anderson-Abruzzo International Balloon Museum. Get some cultural insight at San Felipe de Neri Church and Explora Science Center and Children's Museum of Albuquerque. Change things up with a short trip to Sky City Cultural Center & Haak'u Museum in Pueblo of Acoma (about 1h 30 min away). And it doesn't end there: examine the collection at New Mexico Steam Locomotive and Railroad Historical Society, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Albuquerque New Mexico Temple, and stroll through La Luz Trail.
