Detroit to Santa Fe is an approximately 7-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and shuttle; or drive. You'll gain 2 hours traveling from Detroit to Santa Fe due to the time zone difference. Traveling from Detroit in July, expect nights in Santa Fe to be slightly colder, around 60°F, while days are somewhat warmer, around 88°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 4th (Sat) to allow time to drive to Taos.

You can drive from Santa Fe to Taos in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Traveling from Santa Fe in July, things will get a bit cooler in Taos: highs are around 83°F and lows about 52°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 6th (Mon) so you can drive to Albuquerque.

Getting from Taos to Albuquerque by car takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: take a bus; or do a combination of bus and train. Prepare for a bit warmer weather when traveling from Taos in July: high temperatures in Albuquerque hover around 91°F and lows are around 67°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 9th (Thu) to allow enough time to drive to Alamogordo.
