— 10 nights

The Big Easy

Known for its Creole cuisine, rich musical tradition, and nearby swamps and plantations, New Orleans is one of the nation's oldest cities.
Get some cultural insight at Laura: Louisiana's Creole Heritage Site and Louisiana's Old State Capitol. The Myrtles Plantation and French Quarter will appeal to history buffs. You'll find plenty of places to visit near New Orleans: Baton Rouge (Capitol Park Museum, USS Kidd, &more), Vacherie (St. Joseph Plantation & Oak Alley Plantation) and Evergreen Plantation (in Edgard). There's lots more to do: see the interesting displays at Whitney Plantation, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Immaculate Conception Church, steep yourself in history at Rosedown Plantation State Historic Site, and take in nature's colorful creations at Houmas House Plantation and Gardens.
